In less than 2 decades Qatar has gone from having no presence in aerial sports such as Skydiving, Parachute Accuracy, Hot Air Ballooning and Paramotors to being present on the podiums of every major aerial competition internationally,

Qatar’s Skydiving Formations teams have won major competitions, both civilian and military, across the world.  The canopy formation teams (CRW – Canopy Relative Work) have set world records certified by Guinness and have raised the bar globally by incorporating fireworks and pyrotechnics in their presentations, and the paramotor teams, likewise, have set new standards in competition and demonstration flights.

They are consistently showing themselves to be not only the equal of teams that have been around for many decades, but better.

How did they achieve this in such a short time?  It is due to the hard work and dedication of their aerial athletes, and by bringing in the best coaches and instructors in the world.  Training themselves to be not only champions but instructors themselves.  From the ground up, literally from the ground to the heavens, they have built a culture of champions, and excellence.

Now they want to give back!

The Qatar Air Sports Committee wants to create the region’s first “Air Sports Museum” dedicated to explaining the various sports, the equipment, the disciplines and the history of their achievements.

Immersive displays, virtual reality, one on one questions and answers, and first person demonstrations, and explanations, of equipment and techniques will be just some of the exhibits that will enthral, excite and educate the Museum’s Visitors.

The Museum plans to showcase the rich and exciting history of air sports globally and locally.  The developments in Safety, research and innovation, the rise of newer disciplines and competitions, and will also feature many of the personalities that have contributed to the sports.

The venue will showcase a comprehensive collection of artefacts, skydiving and paramotor equipment, mock-ups wind tunnels, photographs, film footage, digital media, books, achievements, medals, trophies, and documents.

All items will be catalogued, including contributions from members of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, the Joint Special Forces, and the International Community.  However, to make the Museum truly unique and special, hands on and interactive exhibits will draw all visitors into this incredible aerial sports community.
